About the Author
Born in Guatemala City and raised in Madrid and Los Angeles, Isabel is now based in San Francisco. Mostly a self-taught painter and illustrator, Isabel’s subjects emerge entirely from her imagination. Her work is spontaneous and intuitive, giving her subjects captivating and enigmatic faces that invite the viewer to imagine a narrative. Her mediums are acrylic and oil paints on canvas and wood panels. Isabel’s intense colors in her paintings pay homage to her various homeland countries (Guatemala, Spain and the United States). Her work has been selected for several juried exhibitions and has been exhibited in New York and London. Tarot of H’Arts is Isabel’s first tarot project, although in 2020 she was a contributing artist to Pride Tarot: A Collaborative Deck.
